Permanent Accelerated Construction Solutions (PACS) projects can be completely built in a fraction of the time it takes to build using traditional design-bid-build or even design-build approaches. Recognizing that buildings need not be designed completely before construction begins, the government has in recent years utilized design-build strategies to achieve time and cost economies. Nevertheless, this approach focuses on overlapping construction with design, not on shrinking the construction timeframe. PACS takes the construction timeline and significantly shortens it. It is typical for a Comark PACS building to be completed at least 30% faster and up to 70% faster than site-built or stick-built projects.
